What is the purpose of Probe?

With the Probe feature, the app provides users a tool to investigate the veracity of claims being made in a tweet OR to interrogate the subject of a tweet in further detail.

The links provided in Probe redirect users to the given news publisher's website helping to increase traffic and improve their ad revenues.

How do we define "high quality new sources"?

To maintain the app's integrity, Probe recommends articles from publishers who have been rated highly for impartiality by independent ratings agencies. Please see these websites for more detail:

How does Probe accurately match news articles to tweets?

The mobile-app makes a request to a cloud-based natural language processing pipeline which returns closest matches from across the given news publisher's "recent history" of articles.

The "recent history" contains a full unfiltered list of news articles from the given publisher within the defined period of time.

How can I download Probe?

Probe is being developed for use on Android and IOS mobile operating systems.

As of March 2022 the app is in an alpha testing phase of development.
